Brenda Duncan - Piano, Voice

Brenda began in 1983 educating music students of all ages, teaching them how to make music with the human voice and the piano. She believes the process of learning to play an instrument naturally engages much more than the physical (or technical) aspects of playing or singing a piece of music. Her educational mission with
Music Staff Studio is to enrich the lives of families by incorporating the study of music with the personal growth and matters of the heart.

Brenda is an experienced music educator, having served as a Director of church and school choirs, leading and organizing variety shows and musicals, and has helped choir directors by teaching group workshops and clinics to prepare choral students for UIL choral, solo and ensemble competitions. She teaches private and group classes in piano and voice, encouraging students of all ages to find their true artistry.

Brenda completed her education while attending Texas Tech University on a music scholarship. She wrote her own degree plan which was then approved by the college's education board and Dean of Arts and Sciences. Her unique degree plan merged the requirements of music performance and music education majors with mass-communications degree plans in speech, public relations, advertising, photography and radio & television production. She was also an Honor Student on the Dean's List.

Brenda also runs her own private studio,
Brenda Duncan Music Studio, along with Music Staff Studio, which involves herself with other teachers who offer group classes and now expands to offer e-courses (web-based presentations, downloads and tele-classes) for artistic development. Her private students, primarily in Austin, learn to use their musical skill to serve their communities performing at nursing homes, hospitals and special fundraisers for non-profit groups, promoting goodwill and charitable causes.
